I first learned of FuegoMundo through Twitter. I saw lots of tweets both from them and about them. If you’re one who watches the tweet channel, then you already know that this was enough to pique my interest. I did what many others would do in a situation like this; I clicked on their name to find out more about them. I clicked on the link in their Twitter profile and had a look at their Website, and it did indeed look like a happenin’ spot in the Atl. (You notice the prominent social media icons on their website when you visit?)
Since then I’ve been to the restaurant 3 times, twice to eat, and once for a Tweetup. (Keep in mind that I live in the mountains of North Georgia)In fact, I’m headed out this very evening for yet another Tweetup at FuegoMundo! My writing this today serves a dual purpose. One: I want to say to the owners of FuegoMundo, Masha Hleap-Hershkovitz and Udi Hershkovitz; you are doing an incredible job using social media channels to market your business! Two: I am writing to showcase some of the things that FuegoMundo is doing to embrace social media, I suppose this is my first official case-study. FuegoMundo has moved me thus to do!
FuegoMundo effectively uses Twitter as a listening station and a communication channel. If you even mention their name, they see it, and they reach out with a “hello” and an invitation to stop by. You can’t even check in on Foursquare here unnoticed!
FuegoMundo has also opened their doors wide to the tweeting public. They keep their followers well posted about the events and specials that are happening in real-time via Twitter and on Facebook too. They’ve also played the most gracious of hosts to many a Tweetup. FuegoMundo embraces the people and the channels, and we love them for it. I am one of many brand-ambassadors for FuegoMundo and proud of it. Click around on some of the links in this post and follow FuegoMundo wherever possible; see for yourself how FuegoMundo is doing it right!
*UPDATE 2/8/10 – Me with Masha and Udi later that evening at the Tweetup pictured above. Check out this nice blog post they wrote about me as well. Truly incredible people with a great business going on in Atlanta!

James, What a great place to do a case study of. Fuegomundo is an awesome example of Social Media working to bring in traffic to a restaurant. On top of that it's a great place to eat too.
Thank you Kevin! I love what they are doing with social media, and the food is really great! I meant what I said in the title, social media seems natural to them. They are just being themselves…and have simply adopted social media as a method of amplification and listening. I’m not sure, but I imagine that they just jumped right in and started “doing”. Other small businesses could learn much by paying close attention to what FuegoMundo is doing on the social web. I’ll see you soon Kevin!
It takes one to know one. You are a living example of how to do this stuff right. Thanks for who you are, and what you stand for.
Thank you for your kind words Todd. I admire and respect all that you are doing as well, it's a pleasure to be sharing this space with you. I look forward to our next meeting!
